So Kika, Browntown and I all bought Living Social deals for 300 New York, a swanky bowling alley inside the Chelsea Piers Sports and Entertainment Complex. The entrance was a bit sketch, but once inside, boy! was it hoppin! We couldn't believe the crowd and the surmised THREE hour wait for a lane! We realized later, it was because like us, everyone else was there because it was the expiration date of our Living Social coupon.
So we decided to hit the bar for some grub and drinks. I ordered a 300 Cosmo which was delightful. Everything else that ensued... Well, I don't think any of us would feed it to a dog. Let's just say their culinary selection was lacking in appeal and taste.
After a disgusting meal, we were summoned and bowled a couple games. For some reason, I thought I was a decent bowler. I lost both games and we called it quits.
[Picture Note: Look how cute these bowling pin Bud Light bottles are!]

i love those bowling ball beer bottles (say that five times fast)!
ReplyDeleteAnd at least you don't have a bumper guards up like the days at Cortlandt lanes. Maybe that was just me. Probably.
I thought maybe it was called 300 New York because that's the average number of minutes you have to wait. So Miss Competitive, what was your score? We have to know! I consistently break 200 on Wii Bowling.
ReplyDelete@Zapp- You're right, I wasn't hitting too many gutter balls that night, but it was still a tragic show. I do miss Cortlandt Lanes... and townies ;)
ReplyDelete@WoAi- I, Miss Competitive, have fallen from the bowling god's graces. I used to consistently hit just over the 100 mark. I've fallen to a paltry 96 my first game and I honestly can't remember what I scored after. It was even more pitiful. Maybe I'd be better at Wii Bowling... These balls are getting heavy in my old age ;)
