A Trip to the Zoo!

Any friend of mine should know that I have an unhealthy LOVE for aquariums and zoos. So when G came down to visit, my big plans were for a day at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville TX. It was a grand old time and the place surprised us with some fabulous exhibits despite some harsh reviews to surmise otherwise.

[G wondering if he gets any closer, will a flamingo attack...]

[I have to take one of these photos everytime I go to the zoo. So of course, I waited online behind all of the other children to get my turn as Safari master :) ]

What a wonderful day at the zoo! My one complaint was, the revered lion exhibit was empty and lion-less. Otherwise, for a zoo in the middle of no where, I was really impressed. The gift shop was even filled with my favorite kinds of cliche shot glasses and velcro-handed monkeys!

This post is quite late and I'm already back in NY, so reminiscing about the cool 70 degree weather and the breezy afternoons in Texas does make a girl shiver in this brisk 17 degree city. Le sigh...
